Oniris is a University Education and Research Institution belonging to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fishing. It was born from the merger between the National Veterinary School of Nantes (ENVN) and the National Engineers School of Agricultural Techniques and Food Science (ENITIA) on January 1st, 2010. ONIRIS enjoys a large range of thematic fields which cover animal and public health, clinical and biomedical fields, food science and process engineering. In this context, SARAF is an Education Programme from ONIRIS in Nantes aiming at training engineers and technicians to the modern methods of analysis of residues and contaminants in food. This concept was elaborated in 2001 by a European network of laboratories in charge of these measures and has been coordinated since its creation by the LABERCA (National Reference Laboratory for the analysis of residues and contaminants in food).
The courses are provided in English by the leading European experts and are made up of theoretical and practical courses alike. The programme allows the participants to get up to date with the very latest technologies used within National Reference Laboratories.
By the end of December 2018, SARAF has already trained >900 participants from >90 countries
