Doctor Ronan CARIOU was born on March 13, 1977 in Marseille, France. He graduated from an agricultural engineers school (ENSAR, Rennes, France) with a specialisation in food process in 2001, and joined the LABERCA in 2002 during his Master degree. In 2006, he graduated a PhD degree from Nantes University in Analytical Chemistry for his work related to the « Evaluation of the fetus and newborn exposure to brominated flame retardant type endocrine disruptors ». Since then he remained at the LABERCA as postdoctoral fellow. He participated to the evaluation of a bioanalytical approach for the detection of dioxin and dioxin-like compounds in foodstuffs using a DNA-based in vitro test with quantitative PCR measurment. His expertise in analytical chemistry is mainly focused on environmental contaminants in foodstuffs and human matrices (dioxins/furans, dioxin-like PCBs, brominated flame retardants, organochlorine pesticides, bisphenol A, phthalates).
